Our First Post

Hi, we are Kea 1, a Year 7 and 8 class at The Gardens School. Our blog will tell and show you about what we are learning in class and the activities we do. We will be writing it from Term 2 this year. Some things that we learn as part of the curriculum are Spanish, Technology, Maths and Literacy.

In Week 2 our class and Huia 1 (another Year 7 and 8 class) went to the Awhitu Environmental Camp, which is just north of Waiuku. We stayed there for four nights. There was a lot of preparation before we left. We each have our own camp book which has maps and information about camp-related topics, along with a general idea . There was a range of activities we did, which included orienteering, swimming, walks to the lookout, a scavenger hunt, a muddy walk to Crab Island, going down the zoom slide, and outdoor cooking on hobo stoves.
